The Los Angeles Rams must be in rebuilding mode. They didn't get the memo on Sunday.
Facing off against the playoff-bound rival Seattle Seahawks, the Rams won 30-13 on the road. With All-Pro receiver Cooper Kupp sidelined, Matthew Stafford had 334 passing yards as the Rams dominated the ball. Meanwhile, the Rams' defense stifled Geno Smith and Seattle's passing attack while holding the Seahawks scoreless after halftime.
Stafford, who played in only nine games last season due to injury, led a 75-yard touchdown drive on the Rams' opening possession. The Seahawks scored 13 unanswered points from there and led 13-7 at halftime.
But the second half was all Rams. They started the third quarter with a 76-yard touchdown drive and outscored the Seahawks 23-0 after halftime.
With Kuppplaced on Injured Reservewith a hamstring injury, Stafford turned to lesser-known receivers Puka Nakua and Tutu Atwell in the passing attack. The two combined for 238 receiving yards. a 5th round pick, rookie Nakua led the team with 10 receptions for 119 yards. In the fourth quarter, the Rams iced the game with a diving sideline grab in traffic on third down.
